Signs of Gratitude at Birch Hill

A Token of Appreciation

On a sunny afternoon in August, Birch Hill resident Carl S. met with Executive Director Linda Phypers and Director of Community Life, Tasha Aikens to present a woodworking craft from the heart. He conveyed the feelings of gratitude he and his wife have for the steps the community, and the RiverWoods Group as a whole maintain to keep them safe and cared for during this time of uncertainty.

Then, he slowly uncovered a wonderful gift to the community – a framed sign with the name Birch Hill in raised letters, covered in real birch bark. He choked up a little as he continued, “This is a little something that reflects the gratitude of many residents here these days. We haven’t gone a day without feeling safe and we have our new friends and neighbors who keep us feeling connected. We are in this together as a community.”

The entire room smiled warmly and graciously. This token of gratitude is just one of many stories attesting to the strength of community and level of care you’ll find at a RiverWoods Group community, like Birch Hill.
