We supply our residents with an array of flexible dining options that are healthy, beautifully-presented, and above all else, delicious. Living your best life in your retirement years should never mean compromise, and most certainly not in the area of what you eat!

The Dining Services Department strives to achieve the finest quality of food and service that can be found anywhere! Our culinary promise to you features chef-prepared meals prepared on-site with locally-sourced vegetables, fruit, meats, and cheese, as well as fresh, sustainable fish and cage-free eggs. We make our soups from scratch daily and slice our own non-GMO deli meats. In addition, we only use hormone-free milk and yogurt, and never any artificial colors or flavors.

Dining menus rotate weekly to offer seasonal and local choices, as well as regular daily options.

Flexible Dining Credits

Our Flexible Dining Points program lets you make the decision as to when and where you would like to dine. Included in the Monthly Service Fee is a provision of Dining Credits per month and can be used in any combination. This innovative program lets you decide — whether you’re in the mood for a classic, white-tablecloth dinner or a casual lunch — choose something different every day. It’s up to you.

Exceptional Service

Enjoying a meal at Birch Hill is about more than the outstanding chef-prepared cuisine. It’s a place where the dining staff knows your name and preferences. Many of our senior dining staff have over 15 years’ experience preparing the finest cuisine, and our gracious and attentive waitstaff is the best in the industry.

Continental Breakfast

We offer a complimentary, daily Continental Breakfast of coffee, tea, juices, fruits, toasting breads and pastries for our residents in The Nook a cozy seating area where residents can sit and enjoy their coffee over a newspaper or visit with friends.

The Bistro and Garden Patio

For lunch and dinner, how and where you dine is up to you. We offer full, restaurant-style table service in a casual atmosphere in our Bistro or adjacent outdoor, shaded Garden Patio. The Bistro menu has a wide variety of selections and changes daily.

Additionally, ready-to-eat meals including sandwiches, salads, desserts, fruit, drinks, soups, etc., are available daily. Take it with you for a picnic or road trip.

Premium Dining

Whether it’s a special occasion or you are just looking for a more formal dining experience, Birch Hill offers Premium Dining by reservation in our Formal Dining Room on a weekly basis. For a small additional surcharge, guests enjoy an upscale, five-course meal served by our gracious waitstaff.

Vegan, Heart-Healthy, and Gluten-Free Options

No matter what you choose, you know it will be fresh, tasty, and cooked to your liking. Do you have special menu requirements? We offer vegetarian, low sugar and salt, gluten-free, vegan options, and can adjust recipes for individual dietary preferences.

    Cabot Cheddar Baked Mac and Cheese

    Cavatappi pasta tossed in our house-made cheese sauce topped with cheddar cheese and buttered bread crumbs and baked until golden brown.

     

    Grilled Skirt Steak

    Grilled skirt steak finished with fresh tomatoes, olive oil and herbs.

     

    Roasted Salmon

    Fresh Salmon roasted with a Sweet and sour sauce.

    Cheesy Bratwurst Casserole

    Smoked bratwurst, potatoes, peppers and onions baked in a savory cheese sauce topped with golden melted cheddar cheese.

    Pan-seared salmon finished with a brown sugar mustard glaze.
